Welgevallen Food Garden is an initiative of the University of Stellenbosch Agrisciences Faculty.
The project includes substantial compost-making and a large Organic and Biodynamically cultivated food garden.
It is primarily a demonstration and training project for students and potential community gardeners.
Manager Brian Joffin has more than 30 years experience in Biodynamic crop farming, nursery and cut-flower production, and food and herb processing.
The Food Garden is also affiliated to Food Basket for Africa, an NPO providing training and support for small farmers and gardeners who are engaged in food security initiatives in the wider Western Cape area.
